Katie Daugherty teaches:
Learn to knit socks. Using the beautiful Ritual Dyes Priestess yarn you’ll knit up a fun and attractive sock. The sock will be knit cuff down and has a forethought heel. You’ll learn a neat and more elastic cast on, the double-chain cast-on. Using DK weight yarn the socks will knit right up. Socks shown are in color Gemini.
Sizes:
Circumference of the ball of foot: Adult small (7”), medium (8”), large (9”)
Materials:
Yarn: small = 1 skein Ritual Dyes Priestess (or 218 yards DK weight); medium and large = 2 skeins Ritual Dyes Priestess (or 436 yards DK weight)
US 3 DPNS, or 9” circular, or 24” circular for magic loop
If using circular needles, it is recommended to have 1 DPNS needle for the CO, but not required
BOR marker
16-22” piece of DK waste yarn in different color for forethought heel
Removable markers are optional to keep track of number of rounds knit
Experience required:
Knit and purl stitches
Knitting in the round
Class schedule - 3-1.5 hr classes
Session 1 = double, chain CO and starting to knit cuff and leg
Session 2 = put in forethought heel and begin foot
Session 3 = knit toe and heel
