Valley Vista Cowl by Valerie Moreno

Workshop: Sunday June 22nd 9am - 12pm

Are you ready to crochet with 2 colors?
Mosaic Crochet is a great way to start crochet colorwork. Mosaic Crochet
is an easy technique that uses simple stitch patterns and 1-row color
changes. It’s beginner friendly because you use one color at a time! In
this workshop you'll learn the Mosaic Double Crochet Stitch and how to
change colors.

The workshop pattern is Valley Vista, a forever-free pattern published
in Knitty.com, Issue 84, First Fall 2023. This workshop is taught by the
Designer, Valerie Moreno!

We’ll make the small size that uses 5 mini-skeins of fingering
weight yarn. (suggested yarn ) The entire project is based on the Double Crochet stitch,
crocheters should be comfortable with basic stitches (chain, single
crochet and double crochet). There is no homework or prep required.

During the workshop you’ll learn and practice new skills including the
Mosaic Double Crochet Stitch, a chainless foundation row, the best way
to change colors and how to work from a written pattern. We’ll talk
about all the extras too, like the history of Mosaic Crochet, pattern
sizing, how to choose your color order, modifying stitch counts and the
shortcuts I take for a fun and finished project!

Supplies: For the workshop, please bring a crochet hook size US F
#5/3.75mm, lockable stitch markers, a darning needle and your personal
copy of the pattern (digital or printed – your choice!).

Manos del Uruguay Fino mini sets is the suggested project yarn

*Beginner friendly - but must know chain, single crochet and double crochet.
