Join Instructor Katie Daugherty in this 10 week Knitting Series.
Elevate your knitting to create beautiful and wearable art? Join Katie to learn advanced knitting techniques. You’ll learn new cast ons, increases and decreases, and swatching for gauge. We will go over all about yarn and cool tools to help you with your projects available at LYS’s. And so many techniques – including intarsia, cables, lace, and more.
This class is for beginner knitters who know how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off.

Week 1: Overview of course, 1 CO - Chinese Waitress, Ribbing - 1x1 and 2x2
Week 2: Inc & Dec; k2tog, ssk, p2tog, ssp, kfb, pfb, m1r, m1l, yo, ktbl and ptbl
Week 3: Yarn/needles/tools; reading a pattern, abbrv, common knitting terms.
Week 4: Gauge; the importance of, swatching, measuring and blocking
Week 5: Pattern adjustments: using your gauge
Week 6: Color work; intarsia and mosaic
Week 7: Cable; reading charts, using cable needle and w/out
Week 8: Lace; reading charts, abbrv.
Week 9: Knitting in the round; different techniques/needles
Week 10: Seeming, weaving in ends, blocking
Take the whole series or pick and choose individual classes.
Saturday mornings, starting Feb 1st. 9:30am - 11am
